Aurora Chosen as Business of the Month by Monroe County

Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks announced that Aurora Machine has been named Monroe County’s “Business of the Month” for April of 2015 and is now featured on the Monroe County website at monroecounty.gov.

“Aurora Machine is an incredibly unique small business that puts Monroe County on the map by serving customers in a variety of markets throughout the region,” said Brooks. “As a single source provider of machining, fabrication and powder coating, Aurora has developed a strong reputation for excellence that will serve them well into the future. We thank them for their investment in our local economy as they continue to create jobs and enhance our community’s quality of life.”

Aurora Machine specializes in fabricating custom, precision sheet metal and machined components for many leading advanced technology companies. The company’s broad range of in-house capabilities makes them a one-stop source for customers. The company was purchased in 2013 by Jonathan Amoia and Jordan Kowalczyk with the knowledge that the company had a unique market position and tremendous growth potential. Revenue has grown substantially since their 2013 acquisition, and Aurora continues to strive to become the region’s premier high precision contract manufacturer.

“To be selected as the Business of the Month and also be one of Rochester’s fastest growing companies is a great honor,” said Jonathan Amoia, President of Aurora Machine. “Doing business in Monroe County and working with the IDA has far exceeded our expectations. We are sincerely grateful to our employees and business partners: Five Star Bank, Attorney – Hodgson Russ, and Accountant – Rick Bucci, who have gone above and beyond to make our growth possible.”

Aurora Machine has been approved for many of the economic development programs that Monroe County offers manufacturing companies. They participated in the GreatRate Program in 2013 and 2014, which helped offset the costs of new equipment. The company also utilized the Monroe Manufacturing Rewards Program and the Monroe Manufactures Jobs LoanPlus to help finance the purchase of new manufacturing equipment. The company has met and exceeded the job creation requirements for all the incentive programs they have utilized.
Aurora Machine was founded in 1999 by the company’s Chief Operating Officer Tom Carpenter. They are presently located in Eastman Business Park, where they employ 17 local workers with plans to add more.
